Cultivate Joy III

Experiencing joy has nothing whatsoever to do with whatever circumstance shows up. Whether you’ve won the lottery, just received a proposal, or lost a loved one, its all the same to joy. Joy is your connection to something deeper, more ancient, and eternal. Some would call it your soul, spirit, life force. . . Try this:

Imagine you are the ocean and the surface is chaotic with wind, waves, and storms. Yet in the depths of the ocean, the bigger part of the ocean there is only calm. It can be sunny or stormy on the surface yet deep below the surface, there is peace. Let the storm brew on the surface while you experience the depths that are peaceful and serene, even if just for a few breaths. It is worth it.
